Three flying eagles players have been named in the just concluded WAFU B U-20 Championship team of the tournament.

Nigeria won the competition after thrashing the Squirrels of Benin Republic 3-1 in the final at the Stade General Seyni Kountche, Niamey on Sunday.

The goalkeeper of the team Nathaniel Nwosu, midfielder Daniel Daga and forward Ibrahim Muhammad made the list.

Nathaniel Nwosu who was named the goalkeeper of the tournament was named in the team.

He was impressive throughout the tournament including an exceptional performance in the semi-final victory against Cote d’ivoire where he made some fantastic saves in the match to book a final spot for the country.

Daniel Daga was also a versatile member of the winning team during the competition.

He picked up two man of the match awards in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Burkina Faso and semi-final victory against Cote d’ivoire.

Muhammad also got his reward after netting twice in the competition including the extra time goal that sent Nigeria into the final.

Semi-finalist Cote d’l voire also had three players on the list, two players each from Burkina Faso and Benin Republic while the host country produced the last player to complete a team of 11.

The Flying Eagles alongside Benin Republic will represent West Africa Zone B at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt next year.
