Yet again the football community and Nigeria lost an icon to the cold hands of death. Yissa Sofoluwe known as the “minister of defence” died on Tuesday night as a result of chronic cerebral atrophy.

Sofoluwe who died at the age of 53years was spoken about last week as regard financial need fir his medical bill but nobody thought it could have lead to the untimely death of the ex-footballer.

One of the people who spoke about the demise of Sofoluwe was Coach Adegboye Onigbinde The former super Eagles gaffer who spoke with Sola Kehinde on Wednesday’s sport update programme dedicated to the former player expressed his sadness about the minister of defence.

Coach Onigbinde who was discovered and coached Yissa Sofoluwe in 1984 spoke highly of the late player being discipline and dedicated to work.

Sofoluwe played alongside Peter Rufai and Felix Owolabi in the green Eagles.
