For the second time, Africa will be hosting 2023 edition of International Table Tennis Federation(ITTF) world championship.

NAIRASPORTS reports that the hosting right was between Dusseldorf in Germany and Durban in South Africa.

The hosting right was given to South Africa at the first ever Virtual Annual General Meeting of table tennis federation on Monday.

It would be recalled that Egypt is the first African to host the championship in 1939.

World Table Tennis Championships is a biennially event since 1957. It is a Five individual events, which include men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s double and mixed doubles.

Meanwhile, this year’s Hana Bank World TeamChampionships championships in Busan, South Korea have been postponed till February next year.
