All is set for the commencement of a two days secondary school table tennis Championship in Ogun state.
The tournament that is organized by the State Sports Council with the support of the office of Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Oludare Kehinde, to mark the 2nd anniversary of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration in the state will serves off on Wednesday at the Alake Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
In a Release by the Head of Public Relations/Information Units of the Sports Council, Bola Giwa said that sixty schools would compete for laurels at the tournament.
She added that the tourney will spread across the three senatorial zones of the state.
According to the release, “The Ogun State Sports Council supported by the hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Dr Oludare Kehinde, has organized a 2 days Table Tennis Championship to commemorate the “Two Years In Office” of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR.
“Prince Dapo Abiodun Table Tennis Championship for Secondary Schools (Boys&Girls) will kick start on Wednesday 9th, June 2021, among sixty Secondary Schools in (12-14 years) Cadet and (15-18years) Junior categories, spread across Ogun State in three Senatorial Zones.
“The competition is to engage the Youths across the State as well as create an avenue to discover New Talent at Grassroots
“The grand finale will be held on Thursday, June 10th 2021, at the Badminton Hall of Alake Sports Center Ijeja, Abeokuta Ogun State, by 2pm, with all the Sports’ lovers from all the sphere of the State in attendance.” The statement read
