Eagles vs south africa

Super Eagles 4-2 spanking of Argentina in an
International friendly last Tuesday in Russia as
part of the 2018 preparations has been
described as a good omen for the Nigerian
side.

In a chat with our reporter in Benin-City,
former Super Eagles star, Edema Fuludu said
that the defeat of Argentina has exposed the
Eagles to the world as far as the Russia 2018
World Cup is concerned.
He said that the Nigeria Football Federation,
NFF must do more to prepare the boys for the
big fight ahead, adding that the World Cup is
not a tea party.

“I’m happy that our players are beginning to
get abreast with the reality on ground. I want
to give them kudos for beating Argentina in
that International friendly, what a good way of
kick-starting the World Cup preparations. I
must tell you that the defeat is good, but one
of the disadvantages is that it has exposed
the Super Eagles to the world.
Other countries now know that we have a
World Cup team, and they will be fully ready to
play Nigeria with all their might without mercy.

The implication is that we should be ready to
face stronger oppositions at the Mundial.”
“I also want to advice that there is need for
the NFF to organize more high profile
International friendlies to enable us know
whether we have what it takes to battle bigger
countries at the World Cup or not. The
Argentina friendly is not enough for us to
judge whether our team is ready or not.
Gernot Rohr needs to prove to Nigerians that
the Eagles are ready for the World Cup.

Eagles must put that game behind them and
move ahead. It is not yet time to celebrate
because the big battle is yet to come.
Be that as it may, I must congratulate them
for putting up a good fight, because it is not
easy to come back from 0-2 to win 4-2 against
a team like Argentina. Our boys should be
commended,”he said.
