Real Madrid are determined to prise Neymar away from PSG despite the player previously turning out for La Liga giants Barcelona.

The Brazil international could turn his back on the Parc des Princes to boost his chances of winning the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.

Real, however, are reluctant to publicly pursue the player having been snubbed by Neymar before, back during his time in his homeland with Santos.

And Spanish website Diario Gol claim the 26-year-old could be on the move to Manchester United instead.

The Red Devils’ interest in Neymar dates back to his time at Santos.

However, they were gazumped by Barcelona on that occasion with the Catalan giants also beating the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool to the player’s signature.

Neymar has since turned into one of the best players in world football.

And Diario Gol say interest at Old Trafford remains high.

Neymar’s environment have supposedly warned Real they have learned Jose Mourinho wants to bring him to United when the transfer window reopens.

The Red Devils only signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last month.

But with Paul Pogba possibly departing, the club may invest in a marquee name to help ease any unrest among the supporters.

United also need more if they are to reel in Manchester City next term.

And their goalless draw against Sevilla suggests splashing the cash is the only way to close the gap on the European elite.
