Volleyball Team of Gateway State won silver medal at the Regional Unity Cup in Kwara State.

The Seven days event started on Saturday 8th, January and ended on 15th January.

Gateway Team aside 2nd position also received award in the Best Spiker in Nigeria, Best Blocker in Nigeria as well as Best Defender in Nigeria respectively.

Michael Abari got the Best Spiker in Nigeria, Best Defender was won by Precious Peter in Nigeria as well while Army Ferdinand got the Best Blocker in the country.

The Team presented their medals to the management of Ogun Sports on Monday 17th, January 2022 at the office of the director of Sports .

At the presentation, director of Sports, Mrs Folakemi Iyabode Rotimi commended the team on their achievements, she expressed her appreciation over their sincerity in reporting and tendering all their “rewards”.

The head coach, Coach Segun Abinde was also commended for his dedication and commitments towards his game, his charisma among his team mates was acknowledged.

Hon. Wale Shodeinde, on behalf of the commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oludare Kehinde, encouraged Coach Abinde not to relent in his efforts of taking volleyball in the Gateway State to higher level of global acknowledgment.

Ondo, Offa, Lagos, Abuja were part of te participants. Ondo came first.
