The Nigerian Premier league as lived up to it’s hype since resumption. Fans have been thrilled with 2 match days of exhilarating footballing action and it’s set to get more exciting with Matchweek 3 fixtures set to be played.

The Southwest Derby:
The game which headline Gameweek 3 of the NPFL is the mouthwatering derby at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne which takes place on Wednesday 25th, January.

The head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote will be looking to secure shooting stars first ever victory against the sky blues at the stadia where he led Remo Stars to her first continental ticket.

Remo Stars head into the game on the back of two consecutive victories including the fantastic win over Gombe United in the league and hold an impressive record against the Oluyole Warriors, who have managed only 2 points in two games this season.

Both sides have met 4 times in the premier division with three of those encounters ending in draws and Remo stars securing the only victory recorded in the encounter.

The last set of matches between both sides has witnessed crowd trouble and double measures have been set in place to address the issues of crowd violence.

In other match centers , defending champions Rivers United will look to continue their unbeaten start to the league when they host Niger Tornadoes of Minna at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium,Rivers. Also in group B, Doma United host Dakaada, Bayelsa United will square up against Wikki Tourist, Abia warriors will face Lobi Stars. Enugu rangers also In group B will be looking to relieve the pressure under coach Abdul Maikaba who has been give an ultimatum of two games to save his job after their poor start to the new season.

A clash that also headline the Matchweek is the game between Plateau United and Enyimba by 2pm local time in Jos. Kwara United will welcome high fliers Bendel insurance to the Lekan Salami stadium in Ibadan. El Kanemi Warriors will face Gombe United in the northern derby and Nasarawa United will go up against former league champions Akwa United.
