Akwa United U-15 Captain Nsikan Alloysius and goalkeeper Covenant Bassey have been promoted to the club’s first team and registered as youth players to play in the 2022-23 Nigeria Professional football league season.
Nsikan, a Left full-back was the captain of the Akwa United U-15 team. At the same time, Covenant a goalkeeper participated in the 2021 NPFL/LA LIGA Promise tournament in Enugu and was invited to the National U-15 camp.
The youngsters recently completed their secondary education at Government Technical College, Ewet Offot, and Aka Community Secondary school in Uyo respectively
The two players have been training with the Promise Keepers main team since returning from the 2021 NPFL/LA LIGA tournament in Enugu last year.
Nsikan has been assigned jersey number 38 while Covenant will wear jersey number 40.
