All hopes to return to the elite league for Ogun state based club, Remo Stars football Club of Sagamu will begin her 2021 Nigeria National League Super 8 tournament at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Tuesday when they face Ekiti United.

The Super Eight is the avenue for the Eight clubs to slug out for the four tickets of the Nigeria topflight football league.

Remo stars were drawn in Group B along side Bendel Insurance, Shooting Stars and Ekiti United, while Group A has Gombe United, DMD FC, Niger Tornadoes and Elkanemi Warriors.

Other match-day one fixtures include – Gombe United versus Elkanemi Warriors, DMD against Niger Tornadoes and the game of the day will be between Insurance and 3SC.

Day two games will be between Elkanemi and Tornadoes, Shooting battle Remo in a South West derby, Gombe square off against DMD while Insurance will be hoping to go past Ekiti United.

Match-day three fixtures, billed for September 9, pits DMD against Elkanemi, Ekiti play Shooting, Tornadoes battle Gombe, while Remo rekindle their regular season rivalry against Insurance.

There are only four available slots for the Nigeria Professional Football League after Adamawa United, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Warri Wolves and Jigawa Golden Stars lost their topflight status in the 2020/21 league season.
