Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Nigeria National League (NNL) when they welcome Joy Cometh FC to Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo on Sunday evening.
Both sides failed to win against their opponents during the midweek fixtures, with the Sky Blue Stars losing 1-0 to Bendel Insurance FC at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin and Joy Cometh FC claiming a home draw against Apex Krane.
Daniel Ogunmodede’s hopes of bringing Nigeria Professional Football League to Remo Stars are still in sight, despite the Sky Blue Stars losing 1-0 the Benin Arsenals on Wednesday night.
Remo Stars are presently first on the Group B2 table, two points ahead of rivals, Crown FC, Bendel Insurance and Gateway United FC who are playing away from home this weekend.
Joy Cometh FC played out a 1-1 draw against Apex Krane in the midweek and are currently placed 11th on the log table.
This is the first time both sides will be meeting each other in the league and a win for the Sky Blues Stars will make them maintain their top spot with 15 points.
Head Coach of Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC), Daniel Ogunmodede has said his boys are physiologically ready for the clash against Joy Cometh FC on Sunday evening.
The Sky Blue Stars welcome Joy Cometh to the Remo Stars FC Stadium in Ikenne-Remo in Matchday Seven (7) of the Nigeria National League.
In a chat with RSFC Media, the coach said he and his boys have taken the defeat against Bendel Insurance away from them and the next thing for them is to focus on their next game.
“The boys are aware that we need to be there, they aren’t feeling any pressure. They know we need to remain at the top of the league table always.”
“We have plans on how we will play against Joy Cometh, and we will definitely stick to those plans, we just want to win our games. For us, there is no small or big match, and we just want to win always.”
