Ekiti united have been impressive in the second half of the season with their performance, they have recorded two consecutive wins in the last two games marked another win against Lagos based club side Vandrezzer 1-0 at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium.

Ekiti united scored the lone goal  via penalty kick when Vandrezzer player held the ball in his hand at the penalty spot which was converted with a beautiful placing by Anioke Anthony Chukwuebuka.

The Match was the first match of the new Head Coach Samson Omiponle who replaced Ayeni Ayodeji who picked up Sunshine’s job last week, Omiponle who told NAIRA SPORTS that this wasn’t his first, He went further that he has been with Coach Ayeni and still follow the pattern and philosophy of the former gaffer.

Mr. Omiponle also confirmed the speculation hovering about the transfer of the team’s former captain Babatunde Bello and Afeez. The duo joined Sunshine stars  of Akure during the mid-season transfer. Although, some fans still find it hard to believe because the former skipper would have missed Sunday’s match due to his red card he was booked against Calabar Rovers.

The commissioner for youth and sport, Mr. Michael Awopetu applauded the boys for job well done.

While speaking with the players and fans who couldn’t control their excitements after the match he said with the performance of the boys chances to promote is available.

While speaking with Chukwuebuka who is the new skipper expressed his joy for the win against Vandrezzer. Chukwuebuka who scored the penalty kick said the new signings done in the mid-season helped the players to reignite.
