After the lifting ban on Contact Sports, The Nigeria Women’s Football League, (NWFL) has picked December 9 as the kick off for the 2020-2021 season.

It would be recalled that the Federal Government banned all contacts sports in March as part of ways to curb Corona Virus which makes the 2019-2020 league season scrapped.

The elite female league in the country has Sixteen clubs across the nation.

The opening fixtures will see 2017-2018 Champions, Bayelsa Queens to start the attempt to reclaim the league when they host Pelican Stars while Confluence Queens will also host Ibom Angels.

In other fixtures, Lagos Based club, Dream Stars Ladies will be at home to Delta Queens, Sunshine Queens will welcome Heartland Queens at Akure Township stadium. Edo Queens will play newcomers, Royal Queens while Abia Angels and Osun Babes fight it out in Umuahia.

Also, Rivers Angels will visit Adamawa Queens, while 2019 Aiteo Cup winners, Nasarawa Amazons host Lagos based FC Robo Queens.
