Team Ogun dominated the Para-Powerlifting event at the 21st national sports festival in Asaba Delta State have returned home.
Oluwakemi Oyebola tutored para-powerlifters who competed with only 10 athletes hauled a total of 9 medals, 2 gold, 3 Silver and 4 bronze medals in the para power lifting event.
Speaking on her team’s feat in Asaba, Coach Oluwakemi Oyebola commended the efforts of the athletes, while also lauding the Ogun State governor prince Dapo Abiodun for his fatherly role in supporting the sports saying the hosting of Latifat Omolola Tijani who again won gold at the festival led to the super performance of the athletes.
She however, pleaded for more support for them to attend other upcoming championships lined up ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games just as she begged well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organizations to support the Federation’s efforts to build the sport.
Coach Oluwakemi Oyebola is expected to lead team Nigeria to Dubai on the 13th of December to another para power lifting world cup in Preparation for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
