Manchester United defeated Huddersfield in their Premier League matchday 26 clash at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will see the win as a perfect revenge as Huddersfield defeated the Red Devils 2-1 in the reverse fixture.

A surprise omission from the Man United lineup was record signing Paul Pogba that was relegated to the bench in this encounter.

The first half ended goal despite various attempt by the host to break the deadlock.

The host finally got their much desired lead in the 55th minute as Juan Manuel Mata feed Romelu Lukaku inside the box, who is unmarked and buried the ball in the bottom left corner to make it 1-0

Alexis Sanchez blows a huge chance to finally get his Manchester United first goal in the 68th minute as he sent his penalty to the bottom left corner, but it is not enough to beat Jonas Lossl who easily stopped the effort.

Sanchez was however lucky to be in the right place at the right time to get to the rebound inside the box and he gleefully rifled the ball low inside the right post.

United held strong to their two goal lead and at the end of 90 minutes, it was three points for Jose Mourinho side and a clean sheet for David De Gea.

In other Premier League matchday 26 clash, Burnley played a 1-1 draw with Burnley at the Turf Moor, Leicester City played 1-1 with rejuvenated Swansea.
