The Management of Lagos State University has supported the rehabilitation of the Sports Centre with N75,000,000, a project of the Federal government.
Through the NEEDS assessment programme, the management has been able to sponsor the stalled rehabilitation project of the school’s Sports Centre.
The Director of the Sports Centre, Dr. Olawunmi Segun Abiodun recognized the commitment of the management towards the completion of this project in an interview with NAIRA SPORTS.
He said, “We want to use this opportunity to appreciate the management and able leadership of Professor Olanrewaju Adigun Fagboun SAN, MPON for this laudable achievement. Basically, it is a project that has been in the pipeline for sometime and is just getting materialized. It is worth about N75,000,000, specifically sponsored by the NEEDS assessment program.
“It is a Federal Government project but it shows that the management is interested if not they won’t provide N75,000,000 for sports facilities. It is in the best interest of the management to develop all areas of the university in making an all rounded individual.”
Despite commending the new developments, Dr Olawunmi expressed uncertainty when the facilities will be ready for use.
“The project is yet to be handed over to us because construction is still on. If not for Covid-19, this project would have been ready.” he said
