Ibom Cricket League: Maximus set for thrilling finals against Blue Diamonds

Four Towns secondary school cricket field in Uyo will be alive today with exciting cricket action as Maximus Cricket Club and Blue Diamonds Cricket Club jostle to lift the trophy.
Nigeria Cricket Federation National Development Manager(NDM), Mr Tonye Timinadi arrived in Uyo on Friday with Trophies, medals and Awards sponsored by the newly elected NCF President, Mr Uyi Akpata.
The finals are set to begin by 10 am as guests including House members Hon. Anietie Eka and Hon. Kufre Edidem are expected to watch the finals.
The kick-off ceremony will be conducted by the Director-General of Akwa Ibom State Broadcasting Corporation, (AKBC) Pastor Anietie Ukpe under the supervision of the Akwa Ibom State Cricket Association Chairman, Professor Emem Bassey.
The cricket league that has produced 4 girls to the National Female Cricket Team is supported by Afe Ndia, T-shirts Village, Watbridge Hotels and others.
The chairman of the local League Management Committee, Mr Akanimo Kufre has invited all lovers of sports to witness the growth of 2nd most popular sport in the world – cricket in Akwa Ibom State.
