Former Nigeria international, Daniel Amokachi has called on FIFA to punish Ghana following a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their 2022 World Cup playoff on Friday.
According to the commentator for the game, almost 70,000 fans crammed into the Babayara Stadium in Kumasi to watch the encounter.
The stadium is built to hold 40,000 spectators.
“I think FIFA has to take action against Ghana. Just for how unsafe it was out there. COVID-19 precautions were not followed,” Amokachi said on Super Sports as he was asked about the crowd.
The reverse fixture will be played in Abuja in four days’ time and around 30,000 tickets have gone on sale for the match.
