Three first half goals from both MFM FC and FC IfeanyiUbah settled the tie at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos on Wednesday.
MFM FC back from their 3-1 away defeat to El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri returned to winning ways thanks to goals from Jesse Akila and Sikiru Olatunbosun.
FC IfeanyiUbah who were 2-0 winners against Kwara United over the weekend couldn’t record another win after putting up a good fight in Lagos.
Jesse Akila opened the scoring for the home side in the 14th minutes before Pascal Seka equalizesd for them home team 15 minutes after the home side went ahead.
Sikiru Olatunbosun then restored the lead for the home side in the 41st minute of the encounter. The first half ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts.
The second half failed to produce a goal as both sides pushed each other from an end to the other.
The victory puts MFM FC on the 13th position on the log having won two games from four while beaten FCIU are currently occupying the 6th position with 6 points from 4 games.
Up next for MFM FC is an away tie against reigning champions and league leaders Plateau United while FCIU will also be playing at Wikki Tourists on Sunday.
