The premier league began last week and I hope we saw the way teams salvaged one another. However, the games played were a bit predictable because most big teams faced lesser teams so the tempo isn’t high yet.
Liverpool had a relentless visitors last week, this was a sign that premier league is unpredictable. Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds united Side gave their host a tough time but thanks to late Salah’s third goal for silencing the championship champion, Klopp’s Liverpool conceding 3goals in first match despite heavyweight defenders like Van vijk, Robertson, Anold isn’t a good start for the champions.
Despite these big players the level the team concedes increases per year. Two years ago (2018/2019) Liverpool conceded 22goals then the next year (2019/2020) they conceded 33goals 11goals difference from the previous year. There rate of conceding is on high note, however, they are the team that conceded less even with 33goals so this shows the level of complexity in the EPL. This season has began haven conceded 3goals already to a newly promoted Leeds won’t it be hard for them when they meet the London biggest spender this Sunday?
Chelsea on the other hand started the campaign on a high note after thrashing Brighton three goals to one. Chelsea became the uncontrolled visitor you never thought of permitting in your residence with the way they loot host Brighton on Monday night football. Frank Lampard paraded some of his new signings like Havertz, Timo Werner. Don’t forget he is newly cash out boss in the league with sophisticated weapons.
Thiago Silva will show his wits on Sunday when he faces the reds, Havertz will also get a chance to correct his Monday night mistake. The lad saw the tenacity of EPL it is different from where he came from, the difference is clear apart from the overrating EPL stands out. Ben Chilwel is better from his injury hopefully he plays on Sunday. If Lampard parades this element of mass destruction against Jurgen Klopp do you think Liverpool will be able to withstand them? Let’s wait and see the wonder that happens on Sunday.
The Manchester clubs, Man United and Man City will flags off their EPL campaign against Crystal palace and Wolverhampton on Saturday and Monday respectively.
Manchester united who have been unable to bring the Dortmund star Jardon Sancho due to transfer agreement between both clubs. However, united has Dutch international Van de Beek who is expected to make his EPL debut on Saturday. Van Beek playing on Saturday will make him the 13th Dutch national to play for united seeing the likes of Depay and Van Persie who had graced the red devil’s jersey. No new player to watchout for except Beek in United’s game on Saturday, fans aren’t happy with the board while some request for the retrenchment of Ed woodward from the club. Crystal palace has recorded a win this season with a win against Southampton on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola’s City will face creepy Wolves on Monday. Guardiola who is known for buying classic players will parade his new signings against Nuno Espirito Santo side. Wolves believed to be one of Guardiola’s enemies that prevented him from been crowned champions in the EPL last season.
