After being knocked out of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals by Legates and sitting 19 points behind Barcelona in the table, the Portuguese hasn’t had much to shout about.
And Match of the Day pundit Lineker made a surprising selection when he suggested there are three forwards better than Ronaldo.
When asked in an interview with Spanish paper
Mundo Deportivo who is better Ronaldo or Messi?, he replied: “I like Cristiano a lot, but Messi is from another world.”
On comparing Neymar and Ronaldo, Lineker said: “Neymar, but when he played in Barcelona.
“Neymar is the future, Cristiano has been great.”
And when asked how Harry Kane ranks alongside Ronaldo, Lineker said: “For the future, Kane!”
He said: “I’m surprised, I do not know what happened with Real this season because last season, they won almost everything.
“It’s hard to explain, confidence is very important for the players, maybe some players are a bit older, I don’t know if that’s it.”
