Olopade who urged the state government to restructure thee state owned Football Club told NAIRA SPORTS on Sunday after Nilayo defeated Nnewi united in matchday one of the Nigeria National league at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

The brain behind Road Races in Nigeria stressed further on the need for the government to increase the welfare of players of Gateway United.

According to him, “What we need Ogun state government to do is to increase the salaries of gateway united players which has remained the same from 2004 till date that is not good although is not the fault of the government, I’m appealing to the government to please and look into the restructuring of the Gateway Football club and see how things will change, the club belongs to all of us, Remo stars belong to Soname, Nilayo belongs to me and we all are stakeholders in Ogun state sports development and we want to see gateway upfront and the only way is proper funding and proper restructuring of the team and encouragement from the Governor himself down to every one of us” he said
