The founder of Are Football Club Ayoola Are have spoken about the decision of Ekiti football association under the leadership of Bayo Olalenge over the disciplinary action taken by the footballing body decision towards the club.
The Ijero based club was sanctioned by the Ekiti FA over the outburst attitude of its fans after the final match between Ikere fc and Are fc at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium on Saturday 11th of September 2021.
While speaking with Nairasports.com.ng, the Founder of the club Are Ayoola said he felt cheated and disappointed with the decision of the footballing body.
He spoke further that, “It was because the match was bais that’s why our fans invade the field after the final whistle”.
Ayoola also added that he tried to control the fans and he also sent two of his coaching crew to guide the match officials out of the pitch.
“we tried to control them and I personally sent two of my coaching crew to carry and guide the referee out of the pitch. It there in the video” he added
Bafem cup 2021 came to an end on Saturday 11th 2021, with Ikere united defeating Are fc 2-1 at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium.
The competition which was organized by the Ekiti state football association, with a title sponsor Honorable Femi Bamisile have experienced several backlashes from fans over poor officiating.
The final match experienced similar violation from the fans of Are fc of Ijero over assault on the centre referee Dotun Ogunrojemite jnr. It was stated clearly by the association that the fans destroyed properties like stop watch, caution card and whistle belonging to the centre referee.
The association also described the attitude of Are fc fans to be inimical and disrespectful to the game of football in Ekiti state and universal as a whole.
Meanwhile, the association has suspended the team from any footballing activities in the state and fined the club a sum of #400,000 only.
The letter which was signed by the FA secretary Pelumi Abiara indicated clearly that the nomination of Are fc and it’s officials are withdrawn from the Ekiti FA merit award.
In addition to that, the founder of the club Mr. Are Olaoluwa has also been suspended indefinitely for failing to control the supporters.
The association also charged the team Are fc to provide perpetrators for judicial actions.
