Newly invited player to the Home-based Super Eagles, Sikiru Alimi of Lobi stars has disclosed that it is his dream to represent for Nigeria, Nairasports.com.ng reports
Alimi Scored Five goals for Lobi stars in the CAF champions league last season and helped his team to finish fifth in NPFL.
CHAN Eagles Head Coach, Imama Amapakabo invited Sikiru Alimi of Lobi Stars of Makurdi,
the joint highest goal scorer of the Nigerian Professional Football League mfon Udoh of Akwa United, Theophilus Afelokhai of Enyimba International FC, and Samuel Matthias also of Akwa United
Others are, Ogene Elijah of Plateau United, and Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa who plays for Heartland Football Club of Owerri for the match against the Congolese this weekend.
The players will join the Under-23 stars like Ebube Duru, John Lazarus, Seth Maye, Olisa Nda, Fatai Gbadamosi and Williams Ukeme.
Reacting to the invitation to the national team, Alimi told NAIRA SPORTS that his hard work in the Nigeria Professional Football league made him to be called to the CHAN Eagles.
According to former sunshine stars goal machine, ” i’m extremely happy to have been called upon to represent my country, its every players dream,I guess hard work and dedication had finally paid off. I will surely give my best
“Expect the best from us,because we have lots of potentials in the league” he said
The CHAN Eagles will take on the Togolese in their country come Sunday, the 22nd September 2019.
