Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) maintained their unbeaten home record in the Bet9ja Nigeria National League after cruising past Dynamite Force FC 3-0 at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu on Sunday.
Adebogun Omotayo opened scoring for the host from a free kick, Solomon John added the second before Akinbode Ibrahim wrapped up things for the Sky Blue Stars during added on time.
Technical Adviser, Fatai Osho made three changes to the side that traveled to Ughelli Township Stadium, Ughelli Delta State during the midweek clash against Delta Stars FC in match day fourteen of the Bet9ja NNL.
Both sides started slowly into the game until the visitors had their first clear chance at goal after Fabby Clark dribbled his way in to send in a cross and Ndukwe Chizoba was alert to deny their early attempt.
The Sky Blue Stars got the first goal of the day after Solomon John was fouled close in the opponent’s final third, Adebogun Omotayo curled in a wonderful free kick to give the host the lead.
Just few seconds to half time, Solomon John extended the lead for the Sky Blue Stars after latching into a loose ball to try his luck, he took a low shot and it went straight into the back of the net.
The host continued to mount pressure on the visitors after Michael Bolaji, Ogwuche Mathias and Solomon John all had chances to get the third for the Sky Blue Stars but Ohajinwa Chinedu and Odudu Francis saved the brunches for the visitors.
Sunday Williams substituted Bello Timothy and was immediately gifted a chance to increase the host’s tally but his opportunity was seen deflected by Odudu Francis to give the Sky Blue Stars a corner kick.
The host continued to mount pressure on the visitors in the closing minutes of the game, Solomon John received a brilliant pass to set up Ogwuche Mathias but his low attempt was gathered by Ohajinwa Chinedu.
Afolabi Abiodun immediately made his impact known after replacing injured Ndah Olisa, he took a free kick on the right hand side of the opponent’s final third and Akinbode Ibrahim slammed in with his head to give the Sky Blue Stars a convincing win.
With the victory, Fatai Osho and his wards sit on top of Group B2 table pending the standings ahead of Delta Force’s match day fifteen clash with Stationery Stores on Wednesday.
